Lina Ogaily is a British Iraqi visual artist who has lived between the Middle East and UK.
Growing up her early influences included Klimt, Kandinski and Picasso as well as Iraqi pioneers Jawad Salim and Dia Azzawi.
She attended Chelsea College of Art in London and later specialized in Interior architecture at Kingston University.
Ogaily’s design influences are very evident in her visual works where linear marks, organic and geometric forms as well as monochromatic color palettes all interplay to create landscapes of abstract compositions . She focuses on portrait and figurative abstraction delving into the mysterious connotations of what constitutes a human’s psyche. She uses women and children as her main subjects.
